The Shrine of Bayazid Bostami is a historical and religious site in Chittagong dedicated to the famous Persian Sufi saint, Bayazid Bostami. Although there is no historical evidence that he visited the area, the shrine is highly revered. A unique feature of the shrine is the pond inhabited by a species of black soft-shelled turtles, locally known as 'Mazari', which are considered sacred. Visitors come to offer prayers and feed the turtles. The complex sits atop a hillock, offering a spiritual atmosphere.
